If it helps, it may be worthwhile to make two builds, one with Heal Companion and one without. The heal companion spell on a ranger can be quite powerful. The 2 action heal can be combined with one of your attacks (or 2 if you are a flurry ranger), as well as one of the animal companions attacks if they are a mature companion.

If Rare Heritages aren't kosher with your GM, they are a dick - but Badlands heritage is also pretty flavorful, representing the desert test ground for the gamma weapon that ultimately changed Banner into our green friend. Ranger is nice, but I think investigator architype is a hat on a hat. Pursue a lead(+1) and hunt prey(+2) are both circumstance bonuses, so the dedication is a bit of a down grade. The architype feats just look like they clash, or are weaker than the ranger choices. Someone who does Medicine. A spread of all the knowledge skills.
